During the few rare summer days in Denmark, an annual cultural festival takes place in the lively environment of Copenhagen’s harbors: Kulturhavn. The air is filled with the sound of drums and the sight of exotic dancers, people practicing yoga outdoors and many a spectator. On this day, cultural and leisure time activities are made available throughout the harbor for the citizens of Copenhagen, tourists and others who wish to participate in order to get acquainted with the cultural life of Copenhagen.
What Is a YOGA Class Doing at Kulturhavn Festival 2012?
Cultural Harbor Festival (Kulturhavn) is three days (3rd – 5th of August) of dance, music, theater, artistry and a variety of sporting events in the harbor, as well as on the quay – and all activities are free of charge.
Since 2001 it has become a summer tradition and a terrific opportunity for inspiration at a point where cultural and sporting activities meet and are presented to the public at large, with the potential of further developing wonderful new projects.
Since its debut, the festival has enjoyed great success, attracting over 80.000 visitors. Annually, about 100 organizations enthusiastically participate in this event, all contributing to make it the special and beautiful celebration that it is.
This year, Natha Yogacenter attended this festival, together with the 230 other participants. Students and teachers of Natha delivered a very original performance which combined asanas and meditation with interesting workshops that were gladly welcomed by the curious public. It was clear to see that the school gained great popularity with its contribution.
Based on an audience vote, there was a contest aimed to promote public awareness of Copenhagen’s recreational and cultural associations, clubs, societies and communities. The prize of 25 000 kr was awarded to the organization that made a special contribution to this year’s festival with either the most innovative presentation, the best festival experience or by being the best at communicating the association’s activities.
And this year’s winner was Natha Yogacenter.
Ohooo ;), congratulations, Natha! This is a very nice accomplishment and nicely put in the ”cultural” aspect of it. Because If one refers to what this yoga school actually does, it is also a Culture of the being, a process of betterment and refinement of the individual. Just beautiful!
This was such a fun experience. We have met people of all ages, in their simple curiosity or in quest for a better life style. It was one of the most successful events organized in Copenhagen and it was very nice to be part of Natha’s team.
Well done, Natha! We are very proud of you!
It was about the time that spiritual values start to come upfront in the society. This is a very good example to start with. Congrats!
Yes, this year is announcing to be very rich and daring for the sake of the Good. Bravo, Natha and good luck with your further events that are a good inspiration for others as well.
Fantastisk! Great to see how Natha only goes from strength to strength. I’m happy to see that the school’s invaluable contribution to the local community is also being acknowledged. You are an asset to Copenhagen. Thank you for all that you do.
Peter
I’ve met in this school of DK many sincere people who are truly looking for a valid solution to life’s important questions and challenges, something that is personal, practical and aside from any dogma, and this makes me glad.
Congratulations for this achievement as well, Natha!
